For now and for our future

Recently I have helped with my employer becoming a signatory for Tech Talent Charter. This is something that I am so proud to have been part of and I am looking forward to playing an active role in its progress. The push for equity in Tech is seeing encouraging progress with movements such as Women In Tech, Girls who Code and InnovateHer positively impacting the gender imbalance. I have been lucky enough in my career to date to work with and more importantly for some amazing women.

The Tech Talent Charter, hosted a virtual conference the other week and it opened my eyes to the prejudice and unconscious bias that still exists not just in tech but also in society.

My passion to address this issue is not just for now as a knee jerk reaction but I want my children to be able to work and live in world where everyone is treated as equals regardless of colour, gender, sexuality, disability or background.

I have included links in this so you can sign up for the Tech Talent Charter if you are not already, it's free and your data and support can help change our futures.

Enjoy International Women's Day and celebrate your mothers, sisters, daughters, friends and colleagues.
